Jaime Deseda-Tous, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Jaime Deseda-Tous is one of the leading Pediatric Infectologists in Puerto Rico, and among few with a Certificate of Knowledge in Clinical Tropical Medicine and Travelers' Health from the American Society of Tropical Health and Hygiene (ASTMH). After obtaining his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico and completing his residency in Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NYC, Dr. Deseda-Tous  finalized his medical training during his fellowship at the University of California School of Medicine in Los Angeles (UCLA) in Pediatric Infectious Diseases. 

As a top physician with over 35 years' experience in infectious diseases, Dr. Deseda-Tous has been featured on the Discovery Channel in a program focusing on tropical diseases and prevention. He is also a Fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics, a former member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP/CDC), and a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine. Dr. Deseda-Tous is also a regular contributor and committee member of the Red Book, the leading authority on Pediatric Infectious Diseases from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Carmen C. Deseda, M.D. 

Both a local and international leader in pediatrics and epidemiology, Dr. Deseda served as the State Epidemiologist of Puerto Rico, as well as the President of the Latin American Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases (SLIPE for its name in Spanish). She obtained her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico, and completed her residency in Pediatrics at the St. Louis Children's Hospital and the San Juan City Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Deseda was an Epidemiology Intelligence Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia in the Epidemiology Intelligence Service Unit. 

Dr. Deseda is a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine, and a prominent author. She has published extensively on vaccination in leading medical journals including the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association.
